Encanvas, the business software company, announces it will showcase a beta of its Enterprise Mashups Software at TECHNOLOGY WORLD Nov 23-24 2009 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK. The beta launch coincides with the release of an analyst report published by Business Insights that suggests the Enterprise Mashups software market was worth around $161m in 2008, and will grow to $1.74bn by 2013.

Mashups are cross-platform composite applications – published as portals or mobile applications - that consume ready-made building block components and information services to produce new outcomes. The first mashup tools enabled IT hobbyists to re-use services made available by the Internet such as Googlemaps. Enterprise mashup software works on a similar premise but offers richer enterprise integration, security and scalability so applications can sustain to become core parts of business information management architectures.

Popularity in enterprise mashups has benefited from the growing trend of organizations to adopt services-oriented architectures (SOA) – a technology that removes the necessity to repeatedly build custom data connections to core back-office systems. Worth $1.4bn in 2008, analysts Business Insights, suggest the SOA platform market will grow to $2.77bn in 2014. Mashups consume the information services created using SOA.
